About Us
The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his wife Anna Dodwell. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.

Jordan & Anna have many years' experience running businesses in the hospitality/tourism industry. In their portfolio, they have Vercelli Restaurant in Hexham, ran by Jordan and his family and Hexham Holiday Homes, which has a number of self catering properties in the Tyne Valley.

Our Team
Anna & Jordan are hands on and you will most likely meet one of them on your visit to The Greenhead Hotel. Their passion & love for the hotel can be felt throughout the team and they will ensure your visit will be one to remember.
Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our seasonal menus.
Our Kitchen
When dining with us, you can enjoy your meal in our cosy bar area, alongside your dog, or in our modern restaurant situated to the side of the main bar area.
As well as our main areas, we also have a large function room (up to 120 people), suitable for all occasions.

We have ales, premium larger, a vast selection of wine & spirts, so we have something for everyone.

We always have a selection of local ales on tap for your arrival. We source our ales from breweries in the area, we've been told they are perfect after a long walk on the wall!

Our wine list, which holds over 30 different wines (all available by the glass) was created to give everyone a selection of the classic favourites and making sure we have something perfect to accompany your food.
​
Our bar is open to everyone & you aren't required to dine with us to enjoy a drink! When the weather is nice we also have several sun spots to enjoy a drink or two outside.
Our Rooms
Spend the night in one of our 7 unique guest bedrooms. Whether you are travelling the Pennine way, walking Hadrian’s wall, visiting the beautiful Northumbrian countryside, or simply just visiting a friend; spend the night with us!

All rooms are designed individually to create a relaxed and cosy ambiance, with our ensuite bathrooms stocked with beautiful eco-friendly toiletries and luxury towels.
​
Complimentary bottled water, tea/coffee, and local chocolates, alongside a hairdryer and free WIFI are all included in your room upon your stay.
Our Hostel
The Greenhead Hostel is situated across the road from the Hotel, bar & restaurant and as of July 2021 we have just completed a refurbishment, giving it a fresh look.

Our Hostel can sleep up to 48 people and includes a mixture of bunk bed dorms and private double or triple rooms. All the rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities, fully equipped kitchen area, boot room, quiet room, outside picnic are and lounge with TV, pool table & table football.
​
Although no food is included in the price, guests are welcome at the Hotel for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just for a few drinks. For larger groups staying in the hostel we can offer buffets across at the hostel or in our function room.

Our function room has recently been renovated to give a bright and modern space for hosting events and weddings.

Our kitchen team have worked alongside our events team to create the perfect packages for weddings & events.
​
Our function room holds up to 120 people, however we also have a secluded restaurant perfect for smaller celebrations or private gatherings up to 28 people.
