Anna & Jordan

Anna & Jordan's love for the Hotel is felt throughout with their individuality recognised in each small detail from décor to service.

In their spare time they love spending time with their new born daughter, Ava Abigail Dodwell, born in February 2023 & golden Labrador, Mila, who you will no doubt see on our website! She enjoys long walks in the stunning Northumbrian countryside or enjoying a short trip up the east coast to swim in the sea!

Since having Ava, Anna & Jordan spend quality time together with their families on our closed days. Anna has just ended her maternity leave and is back in the hotel a couple days a week & the rest of the time spending quality time with Ava.

Our Kitchen Team

Our kitchen team is ran by Head Chef, Daniel Nattrass, alongside Executive Chef & Owner, Jordan Dodwell, who splits his time between the Hotel and Vercelli Restaurant in Hexham.

Dan's background since becoming a chef has predominately been fine-dining food, working within kitchens which have since been awarded AA Rosettes, sustainability awards & Michelin stars. Previously working for Tommy Banks in 2019 at his new restaurant 'Roots York' & attending food festivals with Tommy Banks & his team as well as other well known names such as Tom Kerridge. Many of the skills he's learnt will be seen throughout his menus while also keeping it pub relevant & experimenting with new idea's & his take on trends. Following the achievement of a One AA Rosette in May 2023, himself and his team will continue to aim for further accolades for the Hotel.

Just like Jordan and Anna, Dan loves spending time with his dog, either cuddling on the sofa or foraging for mushrooms! Since closing on Sundays & Mondays you will find both Jordan & Dan playing football in early hours of Sunday for Hexhamshire Football Club followed by a trip to the pub afterwards!

Front of House Team

Our Front of House team is ran by General Manager & Owner, Anna Pearson. We boast a small team of young & ambitious individuals who have worked within the industry for several years.

As the hotel is closed Sunday & Monday throughout the quieter times of year, our front of house team often spend time together on their days off. We recently went to the beach, walking our dogs & enjoyed fish & chips together!

While Anna is spending more of her time with her one year old Daughter (& newest member of the team), Ava, you will often see Jordan working Front of House alongside his team overseeing busy shifts!

After 3 and a half years of being engaged, Anna & Jordan are getting married in May 2024, just before a busy summer ahead of us followed by their honeymoon in October.
